APL 8-Ball "Captains" Vegas Qualifier Tournament

The APL held their 8-Ball "Captains" Vegas Qualifier Tournament at Tacony Billiard Club on March 9, 2008. We had 16 Captains in the event.  It was fun and exciting to see all the Captains that won their division square off and play each other for a Vegas shot.     The final match pitted Jamal Walton skill level 5 against Ray Townsend skill level 7.  Before the match started the two Captains agreed to split the $500.00 and play for the trophy.  When it was all over Ray Townsend was victorious.  By splitting 1st place both Jamal and Ray received a check for $250.00 and are both qualified to play in the BCAPL National singles tournament at the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas starting on May 11.
