APL 8-Ball "End of Session" Vegas Qualifier Tournament

The APL held their 8-Ball "End of Session" Vegas Qualifier Tournament at Tacony Billiard Club on July 31, August 1-2, 2009.  We had 46 teams in the tournament.  It was great pool from the start and a pleasure to watch. When it was all over the Top Guns out of the Melrose Pub in Philadelphia beat out Fish-On out of the VFW in Parkesburg for the victory and 1st place.  Pressure Checkers out of the Polish American Club in Coatesville and the VFW #2 out of the VFW in Downingtown split for 3rd and 4th place.  Rounding it out was the Texx Lounge from Philadelphia beating out the Nightmares #2 out of Tacony Billiard Club captained by "Jay" Veney to take 5th place. The payout was $10,000.00 and trophies going to the first 5 place teams.

Champions - Top Guns- Philadelphia - Captain Joseph Middlebrooks, Jr., other team members include: Leonard Ferguson, Ameen McIvor, Stan Stein, Rasheed Newton, Samuel Holmes, Robert "Dean" Wilson, Dwayne Lewis.

2nd Place - Fish-On - Parkesburg -Captain Raymond "Big Red" Townsend, other members include: Tracy Olsen, G. Randy Evans, Laurie Morin, Walter Winward, Brett Perkins, Brian Whiteman, James Ryan.

3rd - 4th Place - Pressure Checkers - Coatesville - Captain Robert Landis, other members include: Florence Evans, Kathy Landis, Ryan Townsend, George Riegner, Joseph Murray, Charles Townsend, David Stanley.

3rd - 4th Place - VFW #2 - Downingtown - Captain Ed Wike, other members include: Robert Wike, Charles Kruger, Bruce Yunkin, Alice Dunfee, Scott Manning, Patrick Bradley, Gary Norton.

5th Place - Texx Lounge - Philadelphia - Captain William "Hulk" McQueen, other members include: Lawrence Hines, Tyrone Stanton, James Blizzard, Aisha Tucker, Sidney West, Valdez Butler, Demetrius Wright.

Champions - Top Guns 1st Place $4,500.00, trophies and team entry fee paid into any BCAPL National Tournament at the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas in May 2010.	2nd place - Fish-On $2,500.00 cash prize and trophies.	3rd place - VFW #2 $1,500.00 cash prize and trophies.	3rd place - VFW #2 $1,000.00 cash prize and trophies	5th place - Texx Lounge $500.00 cash prize and trophies
